Kerrisdale/ Southlands is a neighbourhood located in Vancouver's West Side. It is in the south-western section of the city sloping down to the Fraser River.  It's streets are bordered with sweeping grand old oak trees and beautiful gardens. It has a mix of newer and older homes as well as various low and mid-rise rental and condos in its northern section. Although the city officially defines Kerrisdale as being south of 41st Ave (north of 41st is called Arbutus Ridge), the majority of the area's residents consider the area's boundaries to be West 33rd Ave to the north, the Railway right of way to the east, West 57th Street to the south, and Blenheim Street to the west. The northern part of Marpole is also generally thought of as part of Kerrisdale, thus some refer to the area as Kerrisdale-Marpole. The southwestern part of Kerrisdale is known as Southlands, due to its location in relation to the city. There is a retail shopping mecca on Kerrisdale. The village spans 41st Ave from Maple to Larch St.  There are Fashion, Food, Health Services and Shops. These are all essential for the very day needs. 

Future development / Projects :  

Initiatives in Kerrisdale have led to a new .285 hectare park a redevelopment of Shannon Mews. It will have heritage elements and native landscaping and playground. The community vision is a result of comprehensive, collaberative local planning. This project is called the Arbutus Ridge- Kerrisdale Shanghnessy plan. Beautification for Kerrisdale: future plans for a Sidewalk Bricking Railway, Bus Shelter at West Boulevard and West 41st Avenue Parking lot paving, bricking and Street Tree Planting: W 37th to W 41st Aves. Bricking, flower beds and granite stone walls at East Boulevard Water Tap installation at East Boulevard.
